Pittsford Active Transportation Plan
Pittsford values active transportation. From the bustling canal path at Schoen Place to the picturesque hills nestled along Clover Street, people choose to walk and bike throughout the community. Building on this strong legacy, the Pittsford Active Transportation Plan, led by Ingalls Planning & Design, provides a thorough strategy to guide the future of active transportation in both the Town and Village.
Although active transportation has always been important to Pittsford it lacked an overall vision and coordination. This Plan provides a broad-based vision for a cohesive bicycle and pedestrian network and provides recommendations that build on the extensive work the Town and the Village have completed. Key recommendations include completing gaps in the sidewalk and trail network, improving safety at Village crosswalks, restriping to accommodate bicycle facilities, road diets, shared lane markings, bicycle boulevards, bicycle routes, and bicycle parking.
